River Stones Medium 25kg Bag
One of the most popular products used in modern landscaping within New Zealand. Medium grade river stones are both familiar and striking when viewed. They provide the ideal ground cover as a pebble mulch where a contemporary look is desired. Landscaping with river pebbles will add value to your property and looks stunning in any landscape or low maintenance garden.
Size: Screened through a 20 to 40mm aperture sieve

They’re often used and look great inside pots or planters and alongside paths as a low maintenance mulch. They will help complete the natural look of your yard and give it a professional finish.
It’s recommended you place the stones on top of weedmat to assist with weed suppression. River pebbles are perfect in winter as they retain heat and thus by using them in early spring and autumn as a result you can effectively extend the growing seasons.
Benefits:
- Aesthetically appealing, for the best decorative effect, hose down after laying, and place any split pebbles crack-side down.
- Retains heat naturally.
- Helps keep any landscape retained and provides distinctive detail between garden material and external features.
As a heavy duty product, this product will not crush when walked or driven over. The stones have a smooth outer surface and so perfectly compliment the aesthetic approach of any backyard. In particular they fit in well around the outside of pool areas and inside large pots and landscaped retaining walls. Light grey in colour, their natural weight also assists in making them perfect for holding down weedmat or for use in high wind areas where other media may get blown away.
For the best looking result, try hosing down the product a couple of times once they’ve been laid in your garden. As they’re naturally sourced in rivers in New Zealand, a large percentage of the product will often be covered in a fine layer of quarried dust or dirt which is a natural byproduct of the mining process.
Important to note for the consumer, there will be a miniscule percentage of “split face” stones, we’d suggest 5 to 10 per cent and this not only is natural, but also looks natural. This is purely because they’re a naturally occurring product sourced straight from the earth, simply turn them upside down and you can retain the decorative look.
